The producer of steel tubes and services for drilling and completion of wells, Tenaris, announced greater investments to meet domestic demand and the external market. In its production center, TenarisTuboCaribe in Cartagena, the company has an annual production capacity of 163,000 tons of steel tubes.
Currently, the directives are allocating US $ 240 million in a new production center. The project, which is part of Tenaris’ global investment plan, includes the construction of a new thermal treatment plant and the incorporation of new lines of latest technology for ultrasound inspection. The plant will have the highest standards required by customers in the oil industry.
These investments are part of a budget of more than US $ 550 million, which the company approved as part of a plan that goes from 2006 to 2014.
